During the Los Angeles Lakers playoff run you probably heard Andre 3000 covering the classic Beatles song, All Together Now. Thanks to the power of the interwebs, enjoy the whole shabang.
I don’t throw the term “man crush” around very often, but Mayer Hawthorne is arguably my favorite musical artist and I’m really holding out that he asks me to prom. Check out his cover from Daniel Johnston’s 1990’s record.
I first heard El Michels Affair with their reimagining of some of Rza’s most impressive production, and they knocked it out of the park. Now they’re back paying homage to the late great Isaac Hayes. Very fresh… children.

Contrary to the title of this post, no beyond the grave sex took place, for fear that someone’s hair would get messed up. Good ol’ Rod Blagojevich, the disgraced former governor of Illinois, took to the microphone to pay homage to Elvis the only way he knew how: KARAOKE!
I’ve been thinking LONG and HARD about what to say about this photo. Anyone have a cigarette?

Shepard Fairey explains his first Obama portrait since the iconic ‘Hope’ image.
Rather than looking like a slick propaganda poster like the “Hope” image did, I wanted it to have more of a painterly look. There’s also a collage in the background, with a lot of different experiences and voices and textures organically mixing together. Also in regards to the painterly aspect, I purposely left the bottom [edge] unfinished, which is both a reference to Gilbert Stuart’s unfinished George Washington portrait, and also meant to speak to the fact that Obama’s presidency has just begun.

Jay-Z replaced the Beastie Boys as the headliner at the All Points West Festival Saturday because of MCA’s recent cancer diagnosis. As a fitting/dope tribute, he opened the show with the classic Beastie tune, “No Sleep Til Brooklyn.”
There is absolutely nothing cute about this video! I mean, his mother told him not to play with guns. And what did he up and do? He shot a man in Reno just to watch him die. I hope his time in Folsom was long and lonely, without his binky in sight.
