Yes, it’s in poor taste to make fun of a guy who’s getting torn from his family and put in prison for a few years, but:

a) it’s Plaxico Burress, who’s dumber, more annoying, and more selfish than the average wideout;
b) it’s Plaxico Burress;
c) it’s a New York Giant;
d) he shot himself in the fucking leg, and then got charged with a crime because of it, which scores about a 7.5 on the Unintentional Comedy Scale.

Anyway, he’s getting sent away to the clink today, and, based on speculation, will be eligible to play ball again when he’s 35. Given the fact that receivers tend to get faster with age, he should be fine. Oh wait, they don’t? Hm. Maybe he could rejoin the draft and get picked by the Lions.
